The science of healing
Breast Cryoablation: A Less Invasive Path Forward, Beyond Traditional Surgery, Another Option Worth Understanding, A Different Approach to Breast Cancer Care, Every Woman Deserves to Know This Option. A Less Invasive Path Forward. Beyond Traditional Surgery. Another Option Worth Understanding. A Different Approach to Breast Cancer Care. Every Woman Deserves to Know This Option.
Cryoablation is a less invasive breast cancer treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy tumor tissue, often in an office setting with local anesthesia. Freeze Breast Cancer explains how the procedure works, who may be a candidate, what to expect before, during, and after treatment, who is qualified to perform the procedure, and what medical, travel, insurance, and out-of-pocket cost factors to consider so you can better understand your options and make a more informed decision about your care.
No hospital stay
Breast cryoablation is typically performed in a specialized clinic setting, using local anesthesia for eligible patients.
Back to your life
Many eligible patients experience minimal downtime and can return to normal routines quickly, often within days.
Tiny incision
The cryoprobe is placed through a small skin opening, usually leaving far less visible scarring than traditional breast surgery.
Cryoablation, explained
Cryoablation uses extreme cold to freeze targeted breast tumor tissue while the physician monitors the treatment area with imaging.
Preserving natural form
Because breast tissue is not surgically removed, cryoablation may help eligible patients preserve the natural shape and appearance of the breast.
Targeted treatment
Real-time ultrasound guidance helps the physician place the cryoprobe and monitor the treatment area throughout the procedure.
Alternative to surgery
For eligible patients, breast cryoablation may offer a less invasive alternative to traditional breast cancer surgery.
Keep options open
Cryoablation does not remove the breast tissue, which may help preserve future treatment options if additional care is needed.
Informed decisions
The book helps you understand breast cryoablation, who may be a candidate, what to expect, and what questions to ask before choosing a treatment path.

What Women Are Saying About Freeze Breast Cancer
Women share how the book helped them understand their options
IMPORTANT: Only a breast cryoablation specialist can determine whether this treatment may be appropriate for you. Dr. Hania Bednarski is the author of Freeze Breast Cancer and a fellowship-trained breast surgeon who has performed breast cryoablation procedures since 2014. She is committed to helping women understand their options and make informed decisions about their care.
Women need and deserve to know they have options... I am committed to share my story with anyone who is interested for themselves, or someone they know who is facing a breast cancer challenge. Women need and deserve to know they have options, if they are willing to go "outside the box". As a "breast conservationist", as Dr. Bednarski calls herself, she not only seeks to preserve the breast, while removing the cancerous tissue, but as a woman, she understands and holds sacred our feelings about our breasts.
Her book on cryoablation is a must read if you are considering this procedure... She is extremely professional and very caring. I've been on an alternative healing journey and she has been respectful of that, which I find to be the exception in mainstream medicine. Dr. Bednarski is a very knowledgeable breast surgeon and I have every confidence in her care.
My mom was sure about one thing; she was not personally interested in seeking out the "traditional" standard of treatment... Upon meeting with Dr B. during her first virtual consultation, my mom felt a sense of comfort and care from Dr. B; she really spoke about the procedure with confidence and a lot of transparency of her expectations. Not only did she know what she was talking about, she even wrote a book about it, and she sent us a copy so we can be well informed in our decision. I say "we" because this has truly been a family affair.
Cryoablation procedure itself was easier than I expected... After having a regular mammogram and finding out that I had breast cancer after ultrasound and biopsy, researching all of my options... I read her book! Highly recommend. I Felt her compassion coming right off the pages and her continued drive to provide the most knowledge and guide you through your own personal journey!
Six months later... no sign of cancer... We found a cryoablation specialist, Dr. Hania Bednarski in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She sent us her recently published book, Freeze Breast Cancer. After reading her book and several telehealth visits, we scheduled the procedure. I told Dr. Bednarski I would like the procedure done before Thanksgiving so on that day I could really be thankful. She was able to schedule me the Monday before Thanksgiving.
I also thank God for leading me to her information... You can imagine my great relief to find this website and Dr. Bednarski's excellent book describing the cryoablation procedure. To know that it is performed with local anesthesia was a breath of fresh air after being told surgery was my best option. After being misunderstood and ridiculed for my fear by others, Dr. Bednarski listened so very compassionately to my need.
I knew this was my solution. I just had to find the right doctor. My search took me to Dr Bednarski at Serenity Surgery. From the very first phone call I felt her kindness and compassion for me and my situation. She mailed me her book which showed me that she truly has a heart and understanding for what women are going through with this diagnosis. Every televisit we had I felt heard as she generously and patiently helped with all my concerns and questions.
Meeting Dr. Bednarski changed my life! She is kind and compassionate and gave me all the time i needed during that first call. At the follow up call Dr. B also found the imaging center where I had my ultrasound. She sent me her book which was a wealth of information. She was able to answer any additional questions, but the book explained so much that I had very few.
